Thursday, January 9th, 2014 – Genital Integrity

Intactivism involves activists who are passionate about protecting genital integrity for both newborn boys and girls.  Harvard Law School graduate, J. Steven Svoboda joins Maria to talk about the history of circumcision and the work that the organization which he founded in 1997, Attorneys for the Rights of the Child, has accomplished.  Complete with a summation of the major breakthroughs that were experienced in 2013 for the movement towards worldwide genital integrity.

Friday, December 20th, 2013 – Ryan Glatt – California Luthern University

RyanGlattHelping Haitians still struggling to recover from the devastating 2010 earthquake, a crowdfunding project is sending 12 students to Haiti to help implement sustainable agriculture practices.  Please join California Lutheran University student Ryan Glatt as he visits with Maria about the inspiration of the trip, the mission, the collaborators and how they will be spending their time.

Thursday, November 14th, 2013 – Cancer Support Community

The Cancer Support Community provides a wealth of services to their clients all without charging for their myriad of programs.  Please learn more about what they do as volunteer Andrea Roschke visits with Maria how the community helped her during her husband’s struggle with cancer.  There are numerous events to assist with raising the very necessary funds including this year’s 22nd annual Holiday Homes Tours on Saturday/Sunday.  December 7th and 8th, 2013.

1in6Founder and Executive Director Steve LePore visits with Maria about 1in6.org and the amazing work they are doing with adult men who suffered childhood sexual abuse.  Founded in January 2007, their website sees ½ million visitors.  In the United States, nearly 19 million men are childhood sexual abuse survivors.

Thursday, October 24th, 2013 – Survive the Streets

Helping People in NeedFounder of Survive the Streets, Patti Dunn visits with Maria about her unique and progressive way to help the homeless.  Located in Seattle, WA and looking to branch out throughout the United States, Survive the Streets works with other non-profits who identify folks that may be slipping through the cracks or on the verge of homelessness.  They are identified and their specific needs are stated whereupon you may then directly donate to their plight.  Innovative, hands on and a direct approach to helping those less fortunate.
