Tuesday, August 27th, 2013 – Hannah-Beth Jackson

A resolution by State Senator Hannah-Beth Jackson (D-Santa Barbara) that would encourage publicly held companies to have more women on their boards of directors passed out of the State Senate yesterday on a bipartisan, 30-6 vote and now heads to the Assembly.  

Believed to be the first of its kind in the country, Senate Concurrent Resolution 62 encourages publicly held companies with corporate boards of nine or more to fill at least three of those seats with women within the next three years.    

Jackson held a conference call yesterday on this bill before the vote.  Listen in to the call, the various parties that participated, Q & A from the press, including yours truly.
