New Columbia Statehood Commission 2016

shadow-politics-b

The Council of the District of Columbia created the New Columbia Statehood Commission in 2014.  There was a two day convention June 17 and 18  to further the initiatives for DC statehood. This is the first time in 34 years this has occurred. Join Maria and CD Senator Michael Brown and some possible guests who attended the convention as we discuss the process involved for DC statehood.

This ‘sticky’ post will always appear at the top of our site, but follow the posts below for the most recent recordings of Maria Sanchez and Senator Michael Brown as they discuss the Shadow Politics of Washington DC Statehood.

Shadow Politics is a grass roots talk show giving a voice to the voiceless. For more than 200 years the people of the Nation’s Capital have ironically been excluded from the national political conversation. With no voting member of either house of Congress, Washingtonians have lacked the representation they need to be equal and to have their voices heard. Shadow Politics will provide a platform for them, as well as the millions of others nationwide who feel politically disenfranchised and disconnected, to be included in a national dialog.
