Technology is coming along for the re-launch of our weekday podcast. We’re THIS||CLOSE to making it happen!  We’ll be hitting the streets at LibSyn (Short for Liberated Syndication) as soon as we get all the technical details ironed out.  Cross your fingers, wish us luck, and hang with us for our new big adventure…

We are testing out our equipment this afternoon . . . !

Stay tuned as we explore our technical opportunities and fine tune them this afternoon. We may be live as soon as Monday! You cannot imagine how psyched we are to be back on the air after a 48 hour hiatus and resuming our eclectic and informational programming with our compelling guests and topics. AND, we can take as long as we like to explore the subjects and our gracious guests and correspondents.

  • British celebrity chef Nigella Lawson and her multi-millionaire art collector husband Charles Saatchi received a “decree nisi” today and will now have to wait six weeks before they can be granted a “decree absolute” which will formally end their 10-year marriage.

1. Maria covers today’s top news stories including but not limited to . . . home prices continued to gain steam in May even as mortgage rates climbed. “Fifty Shades of Grey” in the news as the cause in a rise of emergency calls from people stuck in all kinds of awkward situations – some involving handcuffs and that it is the preferred reading material among captives held at the Guantanamo detention camp. 

2. FBI arrested 150 people across the U.S. on charges of holding children against their will for prostitution as part of Operation Cross Country. San Diego City Council to consider today the request by Mayor Bob Filner to pay the legal bills in a lawsuit filed by his former communications director, 7 of 9 who have asked for his resignation. 

3. Perhaps the world’s largest biggest jewelry heist occurred on Sunday at the Carlton Intercontinental Hotel in Cannes, valued at $136 Million. The 13-year old girl that Roman Polanski raped in 1977 is finally telling her full story after nearly 35 years of silence. The book goes on sale September 17th and the cover is a close-up shot of the teenager taken on February 20, 1977, less than three weeks before Polanski raped her and it was taken by Polanski himself!
