Ageism expert and activist, Ashton Applewhite dispels myths about aging.  Factual as well as entertaining, her message is an important one.  She will present “This Chair Rocks: How Ageism Warps Our View of Long Life” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 1st at California Lutheran University. Part monologue, part consciousness-raiser, the fierce but funny talk is part of Applewhite’s self-proclaimed “crusade to get people of all ages to wake up to the ageism in and around us, cheer up, and push back.”

Friday, September 13th, 2013 – Hair donation for women with cancer

How To Make The CutPantene Beautiful Lengths is raising awareness for their 2nd annual PonyUp campaign along with Walmart, who is offering donors a rebate of up to $30.  Details of the campaign are shared by ovarian cancer survivor Brittany Davis who shares with Maria that she was diagnosed at the age of 17 in 2007.

Thursday, September 12th, 2013 – J. Steven Svoboda

Circumcision Correspondent Steven Svoboda, Executive Director, Attorneys for the Rights of the Child visits with Maria about the latest worldwide news regarding genital integrity.  He is presenting at the Genital Autonomy at the University of Keele, UK next week as well as engaging in a debate next month with the American Academy of Pediatrics’ conference on “Ethical and Legal Issues in Pediatrics.”
