1. Maria’s musings. Obama administration acknowledges today that they have collected over 120 million Verizon customers’ phone records. An 84 year old Florida woman claims the second-largest U.S. lottery jackpot, more than 2 weeks after the $590.5M dollar drawing. A federal judge yesterday ordered a dying 10-year old Cystic Fibrosis patient to be moved to the adult lung transplant list. Miss World will not have the bikini portion of the contest due to protests from hardline Muslim groups, organizers said today. 

2. CA State Grange President, Bob McFarland visits with Maria about the membership increase, the average age decrease and their charter being revoked by The National Grange in April.californiagrange.org 916.454.5805. 

3. Peace Corps volunteer and recent Fulbright awardee Chris Kajtor visits with Maria from the Ukraine where he is completing his 3rd year of volunteerism. As a Fulbright scholar, Chris will teach in Romania starting in October. A California Lutheran University graduate with bachelor’s and master’s degrees. Our future is brighter because of young people such as Chris!
